In CoSpace Rescue secondary age group
category, a team has to develop the appropriate strategies for 2 robots to navigate
in 2 competition fields (WORLD_1 and WORLD_2) collecting the coloured objects
and depositing them in a coloured ‘home’ area whilst avoiding the traps and
navigating around obstacles. The robot is also required to be programmed so
that it can be teleported between two competition fields, thus gaining extra
points in the process. The Robot_1 (real) works in the WORLD_1 (real) and the
Robot_2 (virtual) works in the WORLD_2 (virtual). Both robots are fitted with
various sensors which can be interrogated and the information obtained can be used
to control the actions of the robot in their respective WORLDs.
When competing, two robots occupy the same
field, so it is also necessary to avoid the competing robot. Points can be
deducted for aggressive robot behaviour! In addition to using the programming
interface provided within CSR-Rescue, it is also possible to develop code in C
and to incorporate code snippets in the overall design.
The CoSpace Rescue Challenge for the SECONDARY CATEGORY consists of 2 games,
conducted in 2 stages. The entire duration is 8 minutes. The CoSpace Rescue
Rule 2016 provides the detailed game process and scoring system.
The CoSpace Robot Rescue platform also
provides the simulation for the CoSpace Rescue secondary category. This is
especially designed for teams without real robot and real competition arena.
